A guided walk-talk in support of World Osteoporosis Day.
In partnership with Wyre Coast & Countryside Service we've arranged a ‘Garstang Local History Walkabout’ in Support of World Osteoporosis Day.
The 1-hour walk, is on level paths and those joining this free event should come dressed for the weather conditions on the day. We are delighted to be joined by local historian Paul G Smith, who will share his insight into past events in history as we pass along the town. At the conclusion of the walk, cakes and fairtrade beverages will be made available at a local venue. Please note that this walk is not accessible by mobility scooters.
Garstang Art Centre group is also supporting World Osteoporosis Day with a creative display which will be on show at the library. One out of two women and one out of five men aged 50 or over will break bones due to the hidden disease of osteoporosis. Early detection ensures a brighter future so take the opportunity to pick up a ‘risk checker’ card and check your risk of having osteoporosis with the Royal Osteoporosis Society. Cards will be available at the library when you visit the display.
