Vertebral Fracture Identification E-Learning

This course is designed to support the development of good practice and service improvements in the identification of vertebral fractures in clinical practice.

This eLearning content is currently FREE for you to access.

Should you wish to undertake the assessment and gain certification there is a £50 fee payable via invoice or PayPal.

It is aimed primarily at radiologists and radiographers, but any healthcare professional working in the fields of osteoporosis and bone health will find it useful particularly those working in secondary fracture prevention services (FLS) and working to identify patients with vertebral fractures within primary care.

Learning outcomes

This course provides you with an understanding of:

• Osteoporosis, fracture risk and vertebral fractures
• Clinical presentation, signs and symptoms of vertebral fractures
• Definitions, imaging and reporting of vertebral fractures
• Clinical pathways and service improvement

Accreditation applied for from the Royal College of Physicians.

Accreditation applied for from The College of Radiographers.

Course format

It is set out over 5 modules that will take around 30 each minutes to cover.

The modules are:

• Setting the scene
• Clinical presentation of vertebral fractures
• Defining vertebral fractures
• Pathways for fracture prevention
• Quality improvement

For the assessment:

There are 50 multiple-choice questions and the pass mark is 80%

The assessment is timed for an hour and on successful completion you will receive our CPD certificate.

CPD points have been applied for.

Fees

The course content is free to undertake and there is a £50 fee to take the assessment for certification.
