Chief Executive: Craig Jones

Craig has held executive and non-executive leadership roles in a number of charities, regulators and membership bodies over the last decade. Alongside his CEO role at ROS, Craig is a Trustee at the MND Association, helping lead the fight against motor neurone disease. Previously, Craig sat on the Board of the Royal College of Anaesthetists for two terms. He also served as a Lay Member of the National Organ Donation Committee at NHS Blood and Transplant.

Craig joined the Royal Osteoporosis Society from the Advertising Standards Authority, where he was Director of Communications.

Craig practiced as a government lawyer in the Home Office and, in 2006, he applied his experience of advocacy to leading a children’s charity’s successful campaign for new investment in socially excluded young people. Following that outcome, he was invited by a Cabinet Minister to oversee stakeholder engagement for the Equality Act.

Director of Corporate Services: Thom Harvey

Thom is a Chartered Accountant who has worked closely with technology throughout his career.

His role is to lead the charity’s capability across Finance and IT, by maintaining strong financial control, supporting financial planning and decision making and ensuring that the technology is in place to support our strategy.

Thom joined the Royal Osteoporosis Society in 2021 from the National Childbirth Trust where he held the role of Executive Director of Organisational Services.

Thom started his professional career auditing a variety of not-for-profit organisations which has provided a strong foundation to his time in the sector, where in addition to supporting the development of financial strategy, he has successfully overseen several digital modernisation and large-scale development projects.

Director of Services, Influencing and Innovation: Ruth Wakeman

Ruth began her career as a pharmacist, working for a range of not for profit health organisations during her career including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, the Nursing and Midwifery Council and Crohn’s & Colitis UK where she was Director of Services, Advocacy and Evidence.

Ruth joined the Royal Osteoporosis Society in 2024 to lead our teams delivering health information and support, policy and public affairs and our work with healthcare professionals and health services including our support for research.

Director of Income and Engagement: Vicky Johnson

Vicky began her career in charity fundraising, holding roles across several leading charities including Tommy’s, Asthma UK, Barnardo’s, the British Heart Foundation and Unicef UK.

Before joining the Royal Osteoporosis Society in 2025, Vicky spent almost a decade at The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, most recently as Associate Director of Public Fundraising and Engagement, where she led teams across fundraising, marketing and digital to grow public fundraising income and supporter engagement.

At the Royal Osteoporosis Society she leads the charity’s Income and Engagement directorate, bringing together fundraising, marketing, communications and membership to grow reach, impact and income.

We work to improve the bone health of the nation and support everyone with osteoporosis to live well.
